Brian Houston was born in Auckland, New Zealand, on February 17, 1954. When Houston was three years old his parents joined the Assemblies of God in New Zealand and started to pastor a church in Lower Hutt, near Wellington.
Here Brian Houston and his brother and three sisters spent their childhood. After completing school he went to a Bible institute for three years. Shortly after finishing college he met his future wife, Bobbie, at Papamoa Beach in New Zealand during a Christian convention. They married in 1977.
In 2000 Brian Houston took control of the Christian life center of Sydney, from an initial congregation of 45 people, the church grew to become the Hillsong Church with an assistance Weekly of more than 30,000.
On April 5, 2009, it was announced that the garden meeting of the city's Christian church in Brisbane had designated Houston and his wife Bobbie to become their new senior pastors.
He is an executive producer of Hillsong Music Australia (HMA) , which is Hillsong Church's music ministry. His albums are distributed in almost 90 countries, and even the date have released 63 albums, with sales of millions. Every year Hillsong records his record live.
Brian Houston is the President of Hillsong International Leadership College . In 2010 he started the university, with more than 550 students, giving a total of 3,010 people who receive training at the University of Hillsong . The students of the university are from all over the world, representing more than 70 different nationalities of full-time training.
Students can study Pastoral Leadership, Adoration, Television and Media or Dance and receive a Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Ministry.
He leads the Hillsong network that provides opportunities to connect with the Hillsong team and other pastors and leaders in events, open houses, informal meetings and lunches worldwide, as well as retreats of annual leadership in London and Sydney.
