"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One." — 1 John 2:1 (NIV)
DAILY EXHORTATION
Jesus Christ is currently seated at the right hand of the Father. If you have given your life to Him, it means His blood has atoned for your sins and He has become your eternal High Priest and as our opening verse says, also your advocate. You should not sin. However, if you do, Jesus will advocate for you before God Almighty.
Know however that when you sin, at that point in time, you are out of fellowship with God. This is a dangerous period. To restore fellowship, you need to wholeheartedly ask for forgiveness and forsake the sin. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9).
TODAY'S PRAYERS
1. Everlasting Father, I thank You for sending Your son to the earth to die for my sins.
2. Lord Jesus, I thank You for the great price You paid for me when You shed Your blood and died for my sins.
3. Messiah, I also thank You that You resurrected and because of this, You are now my High Priest and advocate before the Father.
4. This morning, Lord, I ask that as I begin the activities of the day, You load me with the fortitude to not sin against You, in Jesus name.
5. Most High, I do not want to be out of fellowship with You at any point throughout today. Please help me, in the name of Jesus.
6. I speak against any plan of the enemy scheduled to be executed against me in my moment of weakness today. That moment shall not come and therefore, the plan shall not work, in the name of Jesus.
7. By the grace and mercy of God alone, I shall go out today and return as a spiritual victor. I will testify to God's goodness upon my life, in Jesus' mighty name, amen.
